Re: [Android] Habitat - Control your Z-way devices

I'd love to add support for cameras. However, I currently don't own any Z-way cameras and don't know anyone with one either. However, if you have one and would be willing to send me some data, I'd be happy to look into it!

[Android] Habitat - Control your Z-way devices

I have an old thread for Habitat back when it was in beta but now that the final version has been out for a while I figured I'd make a new one. Habitat is a third-party, open source, Android app for controlling and managing your Z-way powered Z-wave network. It's very actively maintained and develop...

Hi. I just upgraded to Z-Way 2.3.7 and since then the app seem to have an issue to show the dashboard.
Hi there and thanks for reporting the issue.

If possible, could you submit details of the problem on the github issue tracker? Do you get any error messages at all?

Re: Where to report issues on official Android app?

You can always leave a review on the Google Play page or email the developer address there.

You could also give Habitat a try. The Github repo is here with the code being published shortly. I'd be happy to help you with any issues you might experience or add features you might want.

Cheers! :)

Re: [Android] Habitat - Open Beta test

There is a slight inconvenience/annoyance with the GUI. When showing the device list in a room, the edit-button in the bottom right corner is covering the value of the bottom device. Considering that editing a room description is something one does very rarely, perhaps it would be better to remove ...

Re: [Android] Habitat - Open Beta test

Interesting!

I'll look into it.

Turns out that custom icons are a lot more complex than I assumed. I'd have to design some sort of mapper to correctly associate the device state with the correct icon.

I've created a landscape layout for the dashboard though! :)

Re: [Android] Habitat - Open Beta test

Great feedback fez. I'll look into it. - I will be updating the UI to be more compatible with both tablets and landscape orientations. The dashboard will be the first to be updated. - I havent really considered a full screen option but I see your use case. - Support for custom icons are on my to-do ...
