Here's a short guide you can look at. It doesn't deal with Z-Way specifically, but the steps should be very similar and it'll give you a good idea!

I can definitely testify to the importance of knowing at least the basic Linux shell commands. The OS is just set up in such a way that using the terminal is many times more powerful than using the GUI elements.
