Re: First Alert - Smoke and CO Detector

There must be a way around it though, the product is part of the Lowes iris ecosystem, so it must be usable there?

Re: First Alert - Smoke and CO Detector

If the devs agree to look at this product, I'll go in as well to make it 1/3rd. I'd love to put these throughout the house to fix the mix and match of regular Smoke and CO sensors I have.

Re: First Alert - Smoke and CO Detector

The Z-way devs are in Europe, so they've never seen this US market product. Someone needs to generously donate one, then they might investigate...

Re: Unsolicited reports from binary switch

It's the Lutron patent problem: Most switches do not include the ability to send out a notification back to the controller when they are touched locally. Lutron has a patent on this, and defends it rigorously in the US. Some Cooper switches (the expensive ones) have it because they paid the license ...

Re: Bloody z-way beginner needs a hand

Software developer here too. Yes, you get thrown in the deep end with Z-way, and the documentation is usually for an older version, and the naming and vocabulary has changed a couple of times. I've been using this system since V1.7 something, but decided I needed to take it real slow because the und...

Re: Issues after 2.0.1 upgrade via management on 8084

Don't forget to force your browser to reload the page fully as well (quit & restart browser), you may be looking at the cached "dead/can't access" state from during the update. I think I ran into that during one of the update using 8084.

Re: First Alert - Smoke and CO Detector

Same problem here, left it like that for several months now, interview incomplete.
Advice on discussion boards for other controllers was generally to keep trying to exclude / re-include, but it didn't help here. There's an older thread in the device specific area.

Re: Is this a Z-Wave Device?

It's an extender switch for a Z-wave wall switch. The Z-wave smarts are in the other switch, this just connects by 2 wires (not AC voltage, just low voltage), to make it into a 3-way switch. e.g. the main switch goes at the bottom of the stairs, this one goes at the top. This on its own won't connec...
