Hy all,
I try to use the generic Web Cam device in combination with a Raspi running the MotionEye video surveillance software. The webcam provies an MJEPG stream, when I start my browser (Chrome) with the local IP (eg. http://192.168.2.124) everything works fine. When I try to setup the generic webcam and I enter the IP I always get the error message: "The URL provided is not a valid web address."
The generated camera device does not show a picture.
I upgraded from v2.2.5 to v2.3.0, same behaviour.
Has anybody an idea whats wrong?
Thanks a lot.

Hello,
if you use the web Camera, then you must add the complete string.
http://IP:port/cgi-bin/CGIStream.cgi?cmd=GetMJStream&usr=guest&pwd=guest
The Username and Pwd must be empty. You can use the IP-Adress from your cam and ignore the note.
You can find the string for you camera here: https://www.ispyconnect.com/sources.aspx

Hello,
Try creating a visitor user and use the following link:
http://YOURCAMIP:PORT/cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=snapPicture2&usr=USERNAME&pwd=PASS
EX:
http://192.168.0.111:88/cgi-bin/CGIProx ... visitor123!
