Did z-way factory reset my Philio PAN08?

Post by Genius »

Hey there,

yesterday my Philio PAN08 Roller shutter controller failed, it failed already 3 months ago, where I just factory reseted the device by hand without looking for the reason it failed.

But this time I took a look in the log file and it seems that out of nowwhere z-way did a reset of the device or how should I interpret this:
[2018-03-27 07:24:21.205] [D] [zway] SETDATA devices.8.instances.0.commandClasses.90.data.reset = True
[2018-03-27 07:24:21.224] [core] Notification: error (connection): User reset to factory defaults Z-Wave device ID: 8

After this command the device stopped working, any idea whats wrong here?

Here's the log file for the interesting time:

Best Regards
Patrick

This means that your device entered (usually by button combination) in factory reset mode and just before resetting itself it has informed Z-Way about that.

Z-Way is just making that note for you so you know it was resetted manually and should not be deleted as Failed from Z-Way.

Hi,
interesting, I use to have the same issues with these devices more or less regularly.
Unfortunately I do not know how to access the logfile.

But I recognised by exchanging the device against another one, that the issues might be related to the device location. So I identified my bathroom as a week spot. So the device that had the issues worked perfectly in the other location whereas the device that used to work fine failed in the bathroom.

So I actually think the issue might be related to the network strength/coverage somehow. Maybe including additional activators inbetween the suspicious PAN08 and the controller might help.

Hi,
I had the same case with a Qubino Double Relay Switch some time ago. What I don't understand: why should the device do a reset on poor connection?

That's completely impossible.
Device is mounted closed in the wall without any physical switch. It is only accessed via Z-Way.
