Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and I want to understand how z-wave association group works.
I have understood that association groups are used to enable direct control of one z-wave device by another device.
Direct means that z-wave network controller may not be involved in the communication.
As an example I'm trying to control Aeotec LED Bulb 6 from Aeotec WallMote Quad.
It should be sufficient to use COMMAND_CLASS_ASSOCIATION_SET to add the LED Bulb node id to Group 2 or 3 of WallMote.
In fact, according to link below, Group 2 and 3 are used by Button 1 for BASIC_SET and MULTILEVEL_SWITCH_SET respectively:
https://products.z-wavealliance.org/pro ... ename=True
However the Bulb don't change it status after Button 1 is pressed.
Then I tried to control Smart Dimmer 6 by WallMote using the same approach and it worked.

Now my question is: why I can't control LED Bulb 6 from WallMote, but I can control Smart Dimmer 6?
Thanks

Re: zwave association group
Make sure both devic s share same security scheme.
Sender should send command encrypted if it recipient is included securely.

Re: zwave association group
Thank you! It worked after forcing the controller to include the LED bulb insecurely.
