Backup/restore functionality not working [fixed v2.0.1-rc12]

Post by mhorst »

Hello,

The backup and/or restore functionality in the expert GUI on 2.0.1-rc7 does not seem to work for me.
For testing purposes I included one dimmer and a battery powered wall controller in my Razberry controlled network. That all works fine.
But when I use the expert GUI to make a backup and restore that backup, I end up with different devices.
After the restore I suddenly have 3 mains powered devices with incomplete interviews.

I unzipped and untarred the zbk file and checked the f9e5ea49-DevicesData.xml file. It contains three devices: the Razberry controller, the dimmer and the wall switch with ids 1, 4 and 8. This matches with the configuration I had before the restore operation. So I think the backup is working ok.
After the restore operation I have devices with ids 105, 108 and 112.
So my guess is that there is something wrong with the restore functionality.

I do see that on the controller info page the "ZMERestore (0xf3)" is shown in red, but I don't see any mention of an error or failure in the log during the restore operation.

The best way for me to get everything working again is to do a factory reset and re-include the devices, but I really liked the idea of a backup feature.

Is there any logging I can provide, or testing that I can do to help with analyzing this problem?

Which RaZberry do you have? 3rd gen or 5th gen?

The expert UI says I have the ZW0500 Z-wave chip. From what I understand that means its 5th gen.

No luck with v2.0.1-rc11 either.

Will this be fixed?
Is it a software issue, or is something wrong with my Razberry?

Thanks.

I saw rc-12 was available, so I wanted to try it out. However, rc-12 failed to install:
