I've just gotten started with the z-wave board and just wanted to run a thing by you all, to get few ideas and advice.
I have a few door/window sensors that I thought I could use for an alarm in my house. The idea would be that whenever one of them triggers, somewhere a screen would count down for twenty or so seconds, allowing someone to enter a passcode. If correct passcode is entered - no alarm, otherwise alarms and notifications.
Has anyone of you done or seen something like this (just using z-way/scripting/..) without having an actual alarm system?
Any ideas on what would be a good way to go? Build on something existing or scripting my own device from scratch?
