I wan't to remove the built-in and add an external antenna. But I find the instructions unclear.
Normally an antenna has two leads, one for the core and one for ground. According to instructions I can either use point 4: open hole for pig tail, or point 5 for uFL connector. But point 5 has three soildering points.
What is the correct way to add external antenna?

Re: External antenna
An ufl socket has three pins, you have to solder the socket to those pins.. Two pads are ground. Use ufl if you already have an antenna with ufl connector crimped on. Ufl looks like a tiny coaxial connector.

Re: External antenna
Or just connect a wire to 4. It should be 86 mm (for 868 MHz) or 82 (for 908/915 used in US).
Don't forget to remove the resistance connecting to the PCBA antenna to disable it

Re: External antenna
I did this exercise recently with piece of wire and helped with range and responsivity
