Hi im new and cant connect.

Post by Dajazzz »

Hi,

My name is Dajazzz, and im from Finland.

Despite my efforts to look on the inet, example:
http://forum.z-wave.me/viewtopic.php?f= ... tch#p71843

First i installed Noobs, but this was Stretch version and i assumed my problem would be solved by installing Jessie on my new RPI3 (with original 5.1V power supply and noobs SD card)

but now with Jessie im facing the exact same problem.

I installed it as follows:

Code: Select all

wget -q -O - razberry.z-wave.me/install | sudo bash

The remote service isn't really working at the moment. See here: viewtopic.php?f=3419&t=25921

To log in locally on the same network, enter your raspberry pi's ip followed by :8083 into your browser's address bar. For example like this: 192.168.0.10:8083

ow Provo, thank you!
its first time i see the "welcome to your smart home" :)

I remember trying this on the Stretch version with the 8083, which did not work. but it seems with Jessie its ok.

Can somebody explain me why there is not a app on the RPI3 that you can do this directly? why i need another pc in the same network to access this?

Thanks!

You can do it from the rpi. It's a web service, so open the web browser of your choice on the rpi and enter the same thing in the address bar. (Or 127.0.0.1 instead of the other ip, as that's reserved for always looping back.)

after running:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo reboot

It not working anymore.
Going to 192.168.1.111:8083 gives me
The request failed because server does not responding
Welcome to Your Smart Home

So i tried:
wget -q -O - razberry.z-wave.me/install | sudo bash

but with the same results.

Did i make a mistake by doing the upgrade? it seems for me at least.

any tips are very welcome. Thank you

EDIT:
From another PC in the same network:
This site can’t be reached
192.168.1.111 took too long to respond.
Search Google for 192 168 111 8083

From Chromium RPI3, i get a reply, but:

http://192.168.1.111:8083/smarthome/#/dashboard
SmartHome UI - ERROR
Unable to load data.

I think i will try to reinstall Jessie again and see if it i can get it to work again.

It seems that Razbian is liking to run on Stretch, and if i run Jessie i should not run apt-get update/upgrade

"wget -q -O - razberry.z-wave.me/install | sudo bash" should reinstall z-way completely, that's not the best place to start trouble shooting.

It could be that the service has stopped for some reason – or not restarted after your reboot. Try: sudo service z-way-server restart
