ZME UZB1 firmware & controller flashing with ubuntu

Post by timohan »

Hi,

I just got ZME UBZ1 mini USB
* I also bought license

Is there real and simple instructions, how can I flash firmware and controller into this UBZ1 USB device (on ubuntu 16.04 x64)?
---
When I plug UBZ1 device into USB port, my ubuntu sets it up on /dev/ttyACM0

I took a package: z-way-server-Ubuntu-v2.3.0.tgz
I had to export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=<pwd>/libs
When I run ./z-way-server
And go to web page: http://<my ip>:8083/smarthome/#/admin

The current firmware version is: <nothing, because probably no firmware there yet)
And then I click "update to latest"
-> It fails:
SmartHome UI - ERROR
Unable to load data
---
All my expert pages seems to fail as well: http://<my ip>:8083/expert/#/home
->
Z-Wave ExpertUI - ERROR
Unable to load data
---
Also it gives me an error on top of web page:
An unexpected error occurred while initialising the Z-Wave controller data.
Please check
1.) if the controller is plugged in correctly,
2.) that in the app 'Z-Wave Network Access' the right port is entered
(UZB: '/dev/ttyACM0', Box: '/dev/ttyAMA0', UZB-Windows: '\\\\.\\COM3', Z-Stick: '/dev/ttyUSB0', embedded boxes: '/dev/ttyS0' or '/dev/ttyS1')
3.) the app is aktiv. If not you could activate it under Menu > Apps > Activ or add a new one under Menu > Apps > Local.
The Setting 'Expert View' needs to be active under Menu > My Settings.

Activation should be ok, but this error is probably because of my UZB1 doesn't have a controller.

I sort of solved the issue by changing the computer.

- I believe, on that computer (desktop), ZME UZB1 resource on /dev/ttyACM0 got busy very easily.
- When I changed to laptop, I could get device working and it can get data from the sensor. I hope it's stable.
