McAffee quarantines compiler.exe in Arduino IDE

Battled last evening with my first z-uno. Installed per instructions and all looking good. Not able to compile to z-uno, compiler.exe file missing. turned out McAffee Lve Scan was seeing that file and also sdcpp.exe as threats and sending to quarantine. z-uno folks, perhaps contact McAffee to be removed on their side. Managed to instruct Livescan to make exceptions for those files, then copy them back into directory from the staging directory. All working as it should now.

Looking forward to some really clever home automation projects :)

Great product for the semi-technical with no time for hardware.

Thanks for the info!

True, antiviruses are often to complain about compilers.

Hello everybody,

I just started with the Zwave.me uno board and I exactly met the same problem with McAffee which found some virus and suppress the compiler.exe, the problem, I don’t know if this virus is a real one or not, apparently I am not alone with this problem.
Did you find a solution to solve this issue?

Thanks by advance

Gilles

Some antiviruses can catch compilers as viruses. This beacuse viruses are often also generating code. Just make a rule in MacAffee to allow this binary.

FYI, I also had the issue with SOPHOS antivirus.
