Can a Z-Uno control a Z-Wave door lock (Yale) directly, without a hub in the network? ie, can two Z-Wave devices talk peer-to-peer without a controller?
The reason I ask is that this scenario seems to me to be the most secure way to integrate a Yale Z-Wave door lock into a KNX building management system via serial. This would provide an air-gap between the door lock and the IP network.
If that's not possible, I may use a RaZberry approach and just unplug the network cable once it's configured and running - I only need serial-to-zwave communications, not network.
Which is the best approach?
Z-Wave door lock without hub?
Re: Z-Wave door lock without hub?
Yes, this is possible. Check http://z-uno.z-wave.me/Reference/zunoSe ... ckControl/ to directly control the lock.
Before unplugging the controller (RaZberry) make sure to remove it from association groups and wake-up group (if any) of all devices not to waste to much the battery of the lock.
