Dead Z-Uno

Post by pjpankhurst »

Hi,
I have a brand new z-uno that was returned by a customer who said it was dead on arrival.
Have the device back and sure enough the device has no leds showing and is not recognised as a device on the PC when the USB is plugged in.
Checked the voltage on the 5V pin and it looks good, and board appears to have no physical damage.
Tried selecting rescue mode and it appears to have no effect.
Is there any other testing I can do before sending back to the distributor?
Thanks
Paul

P.S. If I plug another z-uno on the USB cable its recognised fine as I would expect, so problem is definitely with the device.

I suspect it is dead too..but wondered if their was any other suggestions from the developers before I go through the process of raising an RMA and shipping it half way across Europe

If LEDs do not blink in rescue mode, no.

When you power it and press RST, both LEDs should faintly shine. If this is no happening, the chip is dead. Make sure to power it from 3V when testing. May be 5->3 converter is dead l while the chip is working
