Can't figure out how to upgrade Razberry GPIO firmware

Post by workalot2 »

Hi

I got a new Razberry GPIO board and downloaded a fresh razberry.img.zip Version number: v2.3.8 and installed on 32GB SD card on my Raspberry Pi 2 running nothing else. I can include a zwave switch and control it OK.

When I go to IP:8083/expert/#/uzb, I see:

Firmware Update
The firmware of your Z-Wave transceiver is upgradable using this interface. You should only perform an upgrade if asked by support. its possible that certain firmware upgrade require to upgrade the board loader part of the firmare first.

2016-09-09 5.4 Update bootloader to 8aaa
2017-01-27 5.4 5.7 Update firmware from 5.04 to 5.07

I tried bootloader first and then firmware - Circles spin and then I am returned to the same page with Old bootloader and firmware version still listed.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi,

What's the current version for Razberry?

A couple of cold reboots and bootloader and firmware no loger offer to update.

Hardware
Vendor: RaZberry by Z-Wave.Me
Vendors Product ID: 1024 / 2
Z-Wave Chip: ZW0500
Firmware
Library Type: Static Controller
SDK Version: 6.71.01
Serial API Version: 05.22

And now I can no longer control the only z-wave switch associated.

Suggestions?

Make sure to change back the frequency - on upgrades from old versions it falls back to EU

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I can't seem to switch back to US frequency.

I am really looking forward to the rich feature set of razberry gpio, I want to be able to track/manage zwave devices and routes.

Your suggestion about frequency seems correct. BUT the /network/control/ webpage list EU as current frequency but only offers buttons for EU RU IN CN - BUT NOT US ???

Suggestions for getting my zwave dongle back to US frequency?

(how about some ssh command line tools to update firmware, and bootloader and frequency)

Best regards

Please go to page http://myIP:8083/JS/Run/zway.ZMEFreqChange(3) in your browser.

Hi,

Yay! Used the listed URL and now zwave on US frequency and can control my previously included/associated z wave switch.

Thanks.

I look forward to using my Razberry GPIO.

FYI - confusing messages when entering the FreqChange URL - first it said "not logged in" then the second time "null" - HUH?

Question:

Where is the syntax and usage of FreqChange and other "magic" non-GUI URLs documented?

Comment:

Seems like a lot of undocumented information needed to just update brand new device to current status
